I know that being a tradesman can be a hard slog at times but you should always remember the lighter moments. MyBuilder.com often features amusing stories supplied by their readers.
Here are a couple of instances when you might think the customer isn’t always right, for a change.

Cutting Remarks
One tradesman recently installed a maintenance-free garden, complete with artificial lawn. He was surprised when the client asked how often it would need cutting.
He was even more amazed when his apprentice immediately chipped in with “Yeah, I was wondering the same”.

A ‘Hole’ Different Question
Another was working in Devon, creating a delightful specialist wildlife pond. Unsurprisingly there was a lot of earth that needed removing from the site, some 30 tonnes in fact, and he ordered a grab lorry for the job, having included the cost in his quote.

However, the lady of the house suddenly demanded to know why she was paying for the soil to be taken away. Naturally the contractor explained that he couldn’t spread it on her garden.
Her reply? “Why can’t you dig a big hole and bury it?”

What a Drip!
Finally a story from a plumber who was called out to deal with water dripping from a bathroom into the room below.
When he arrived he was immediately ushered upstairs to the bathroom. He was a little confused when the gentleman concerned started filling a baby bath with water and he asked about the leak. “You’ll see in a minute”, was the reply.
When the baby bath was full the chap threw the water all over the floor and said “Quickly follow me”, before setting off downstairs. Sure enough water was dripping down from the bathroom.
The tradesman suspected a windup but the guy seemed to be serious and asked what he could do to prevent the leak. Our man thought for a moment then assured him he would never have a leak from the bathroom again provided he didn’t repeat the exercise with the baby bath.

“Oh”, was the response. The plumber left and has never heard from him since.
